#15 Silverton, Colorado
Silverton, Ouray & Telluride

Available on DVD

This video shows easy, graded dirt roads in Southwest Colorado.  The area surrounding Silverton tells the story of the hardships experienced by the miners in the late 1800's and early 1900's.  Left behind are old railroad beds, boarding houses, mill sites, aerial tramways and mining camps.  Historic mining roads connect Silverton with Ouray, Telluride, Lake City and several ghost towns in the area. Most of these roads are suitable for any stock 4 wheel drive vehicle in the summer months and not passable during the winter months,  Follow along the enclosed map as our group of 4x4s, including a Ford Explorer, Range Rover, Grand Cherokees and CJs, traverse this spectacular country.   Some of the historic sites visited include: Imogene Pass, Tomboy Mine, Ophir Pass, Black Bear Pass, Alta Lakes, Animas Forks and Mineral point. Includes Silverton Map.   Running time 72 minutes.
