Rick Russell's Off Highway Adventure Series #5 Panamint Mountains Video The Panamint Mountains Video begins with an easy trip through Goler Wash in the California desert and into Death Valley. Visit the cabin where Charles Manson was captured. On the next trip head up Pleasant Canyon to the old mining area of Clair Camp, a fairly easy drive. The last half of the video documents some of the roughest terrain you’ll ever see, beginning with vehicles being winched up Happy Canyon (now a closed Wilderness area). The granddaddy of all canyons is Surprise Canyon, where 4-wheelers winch their vehicles up seven waterfalls to reach the old ghost town of Panamint City. 1994, additional footage added 2008.
