curriea.jpg (18805 bytes) A common way to lower tire air pressure is by removing the valve stem.   This allows the air to flow directly from the tire through the stem.  Although this is a fast method for lowering tire pressure, there are a couple of dangers. First you could let too much air out of the tire while you're fumbling with the valve stem in an attempt to screw it back into the stem.  Or worse, you could loose the valve stem in the dirt. 

The new E-Z Air Deflator Tool screws onto the valve stem, removes the valve core and holds it safely inside the tool while a slider mechanism is used to deflate the tire and check the pressure.  When the desired air pressure is reached, the valve stem is screwed back into place and the tool unscrewed from the valve stem.

How to use the EZ Deflator

1. Screw the deflator tool onto the valve stem.  The brass sleeve makes this very easy to do.

2.  Next twist the end of the tool counter-clockwise until it slides out.  This removes the valve core from the stem.  The valve core remains inside the tool and still no air will escape.

3.  Next grasp the slide collar (brass slider & hose) and slide it away from the tire to allow the air to escape.  Each time the slide collar is pushed back into its original position (next to the valve stem) the air stops flowing and the gauge accurately reads the tire pressure.   

Note: a fitting is provided to screw into the end of the tool for simply checking the air pressure.  When the fitting is not in use, it can be screwed into the rear of the tool for safe keeping.
